Creating high-quality learning content requires using creative approaches, timely transitions, interactive activities, and appealing multimedia to capture student engagement. This lesson I developed for grade 11 English Students in Spring 2024 incorporates these elements and maintains a consistent style using CSS in Google Sheets for a logical flow and adherence to modern pedagogical principles. I believe learning materials should be creative, appealing, and interactive, and I have followed this philosophy in creating this lesson.
In a world history lesson I developed in the Spring of 2024, I covered modern history from 1960 to the present. I created a timeline activity alongside the lesson and incorporated contemporary music to help students better understand the past. It was a unique experience to teach about COVID-19 as part of "history." I used it to explore the challenge of remembrance in a creative exercise called "Don't Forget to Remember." This lesson served as the culmination of a world history course I designed for grade 12 students, which covered the eras of colonialism and imperialism up to the present day. My goal is for my students to understand who they are, and I believe that history is a valuable tool for achieving that.
